THE AREA

Arodes is one of the pretty villages that lie on the high ground between Pafos and the Akamas peninsular. With wonderful views all around it, Arodes has become a popular village for those who want a peaceful life, without being isolated from all the amenities the towns have to offer. It is a traditional village, surrounded by grape fields and goat farms, and with a church, tavernas, and a cultural centre. It is by-passed by the main road from Pafos to Polis, which adds to its tranquillity. The main road is a speedy connection to the town of Pafos, with all its amenities, and then, below that, the very beautiful area around the harbour, with its ancient fort, ruined castle, lighthouse, Roman remains and exquisite mosaics. The golf course at Tsada is a 20minute drive away, and there are 2 others a short way beyond the airport. with a 3rd planned on the north coast near Polis. The Pafos/Limassol/Nicosia highway gives access to Pafos International airport, and a further hour’s drive away, the airport at Larnaca.

All around the village is sensational countryside, especially towards the coast, with spectacular vistas of the sea and cliffs. It is a wonderful area for photography, bird-watching, and walking.
