THE AREA
Agios Dimitrianos is a quiet village,
set amidst the rolling countryside of
the Troodos foothills, yet only 25 kms.
from both the south and north coasts.
The surrounding countryside is arguably
the finest in Cyprus, with its mountain
peaks, the lovely Pafos forest, and it's
extensive sea views in many directions.
The village itself is an old traditional
one, surrounded by grape fields and goat
farms, and with stunning views all
around. It is by-passed by the main road
to Panayia, which means that it does not
suffer from the effects of through
traffic. It is excellent walking and
bird-watching country.
The nearby village of Polemi, only 10
minutes drive away, offers many
amenities including 2 small
supermarkets, several tavernas, a senior
and a junior school, and 2 banks. Beyond
that, there is a fast road connection to
the town of Pafos, with all its
amenities, and then, below that, the
very beautiful area around the harbour,
with its ancient fort, ruined castle,
lighthouse, Roman remains and exquisite
mosaics.
The Pafos/Limassol/Nicosia highway gives
access to Pafos International airport,
and a further hour's drive away, the
airport at Larnaca.
THE HOUSE
Built on the edge of
the village, the house is of stone, with
some rendered areas, and some tiled
roofing. The cool and spacious interior
is to a high standard, and has been
arranged to take advantage of the
amazing views on all sides.
The ground floor is the main living
area, comprising dining, living and
kitchen areas, plus the master bedroom.
The living area has a log-burning
cast-iron stove for additional cosiness
in the winter. For the summer, large
patio doors open to extensive balconies,
overlooking the views of the mountains
and the Pafos Forest. The kitchen is
extremely well fitted with wood units,
and the bedroom has an en suite wet
room, plus patio doors to the main
balcony.
The lower level offers a further 2
double bedrooms, with a house bathroom
between. There is also a utility room,
and a storage area with shelf fittings.
A rear door gives on to the garden area
at the rear, and a large under-house
storage area, which also houses the gas
boiler. From this garden level, steps
lead down to the swimming pool area.
From the main living area, stairs lead
on to the roof, which is a tiled sitting
area, and has incredible views of nearly
360 degrees.
The house is in a unique location, and
offers every possible facility. An early
viewing is highly recommended.
