THE AREA
Empa was originally a small village, just a short
donkey ride away from the old town of Pafos. Today
it has expanded into a large residential area, with
all possible amenities. The tiny old stone church
still stands in the centre of the village, with the
considerably larger, modern one alongside. One of
the major supermarkets is only a five minute drive
from the village centre, and there are several
excellent restaurants and tavernas in the area. Only
100 metres from this property is the highly
acclaimed Stage One theatre, which stages several
productions per year of a standard rarely seen in
amateur dramatics.
The nearby coast road gives quick access, not only
to the harbour area of Pafos, with its dramatic
ancient fort and ruined castle, but also westwards
to Coral Bay with its 2 lovely beaches and many sea
sport activities, and on along the unspoilt Akamas
Peninsular. From Empa, it is easy to join the road
north to Polis, and all the mountain areas and the
Pafos Forest. The Pafos/Limassol/Nicosia highway can
also be reached without going into Pafos itself, and
along this highway are both major airports, Pafos a
15 minute drive away, and Larnaca a one hour drive.
THE HOUSE
This delightful village house has been created by
combining two old stone village houses, built in an
L shape, and then adding a further spacious
connecting area, on 2 levels. The outside has been
rendered to give extra weather protection. It is
situated in a quiet street, just off the main street
of Emba, and has two main access points, one at the
front, and another one opening on to the lane at the
back, where there is room to park further cars.
The mature garden has several quiet sitting areas,
and a number of mature trees, including bay and
pomegranate, citrus trees, and bougainvillea. There
is room for a small swimming pool, and a shower room
is already in place for this.
