Over
the past few years, Cyprus has seen a huge surge
in the building of private houses and apartments,
to satisfy the growing demand from local residents,
and from the steadily increasing numbers of foreigners
choosing to make this lovely island their permanent
home, or provide a holiday home for themselves and
their friends.
Many
consider that this building programme has gone too
far, and it is certainly true that private property
is becoming harder to sell as the market becomes
flooded. As a result, more and more discerning buyers
are choosing to move away from the coastal region
of Pafos, and out into the countryside, where there
is so much more space.
Nothing
is very far away from the Pafos area, for convenience
of shopping and other services, and the farther
away from the coast, the more beautiful the scenery.
Property prices are often cheaper too.
